Anti-Ragging Cell

Government Engineering College Baran has zero tolerance for ragging in any form. The Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted in compliance with UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Any act of teasing, treating, or handling a student with rudeness by another student — verbally, physically, electronically, or otherwise — that adversely affects the dignity of the student or creates an atmosphere of fear, is considered ragging.

Consequences

  • Cancellation of admission
  • Suspension / rustication from the institution
  • FIR under Indian Penal Code sections
  • Withholding of results/degrees
