Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of GEC Baran is constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act).

Purpose

The ICC ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment for all women students and employees of the institution. It handles complaints related to sexual harassment and ensures prompt, confidential, and fair redressal.

Committee Members

• Presiding Officer: Dr. Kavita Jain, HOD Electrical Engineering
• Members: Two faculty members (one male, one female)
• Student Representative: One woman student elected annually
• External Member: Representative from an NGO dealing with women's rights

How to File a Complaint

A written complaint may be submitted to the Presiding Officer or any ICC member within three months of the incident. The committee ensures complete confidentiality and initiates inquiry within 7 working days of receiving the complaint.
