Agriculture Engineering
Apply engineering principles to agricultural production, food processing, irrigation, and rural infrastructure development.
About the Department
The Department of Agriculture Engineering at GEC Baran bridges the gap between modern engineering and agricultural science. Agricultural engineering combining the varius discipines of mechanical, civil, Electrical, chemical engineering and food science with knowledge of agricultural principles. This B.Tech programme trains students to apply engineering principles in solving challenges related to food production, irrigation, rural infrastructure, farm mechanisation, and post-harvest technology.
With India being an agrarian economy and increasing mechanisation of farming, agricultural engineers play a crucial role in improving productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, and developing rural infrastructure.
Vision
To produce agriculture engineers who can design and implement sustainable engineering solutions for the agricultural sector, contributing to food security and rural development.
